Cognitive Dissonance

I read a news story today about the Mongolian sumo wrestler who may not be able to return to Japan. It seems that so many reporters want to cover his triumphant return that they bought up all the business class seats - not leaving one available for the wrestler himself.

Maybe it is just me, but it strikes me that there's a similarity to the story a colleague told me yesterday about his ROTC military science instructor signing the student deferment that kept him from being drafted.
