The first show is part of the National Storytelling Network annual conference. It’s on Thursday July 22nd (eek,a week away) at 3:30 p.m. CDT (because NSN operates on Central Time). The show is titled Okay, Boomer: Stories Across Generations and I am telling a story that has to do with dress codes and broader values. Don’t worry - it should be funny! And, if you hate it, there are 5 other tellers. Tickets are available at the conference website.
The second show is going to be live streamed from The Auld Shebeen in Fairfax, Virginia on July 31 at 7:00 p.m. EDT. I am over the moon about performing in front of a live audience again. Anyway, here’s the info:
For what it’s worth, my story involves a converted school bus,skinny-dipping Deadheads, members of a pseudo-Buddhist sex cult, and whether I should have wondered why the cross-country tour was so cheap.
Finally, Voices in the Glen is doing a virtual midsummer storytelling program of folk and faerie tales on August 7 at 8 p.m. EDT. I’ll be telling a folktale from Nigeria. Tickets (which are free) are available at event combo
