Story Swap #1

I had an unexciting day, without a lot of progress on my lengthy to-do list.

But it culminated in the monthly Voices in the Glen story swap, which was a particularly good one. Eve told Eric Kimmel's Hershel and the Hanukkah [sic] Goblins, Laura told a Russian story in verse, Rishi told a folktale about a cat, and I told a story about Chanukah in Chelm. The true highlight was Margaret's annual rendition of A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas. The language is so rich, with warmth and humor. I've heard it over a dozen times, but I still laugh when I hear "...and books which told me everything about the wasp, except why." I continue to be impressed that she can tell such a long piece of prose.

All in all, a lovely evening and I have story swaps to look forward to both tomorrow night and Tuesday. This entry was originally posted at https://fauxklore.dreamwidth.org/481509.html. Please comment there using OpenID.
