Maybe They Can Get Their Money Back?

I'm not actually sure how much the Red Sox paid for John Smoltz and how much they've spent so far on trying to rehabilitate him, but whatever it was, it was not worth it.

I realize it was a statistical anomaly due to small sample size, but I've never before seen a pitcher have an ERA of 54.0, albeit briefly.

In short, the Sox were badly outpitched tonight and lost to the Nationals 9-3.

The positive was I did get to visit a little with guyklose who is in town for a few days.
