Farmer's Market Bounty
I am very pleased with the Tuesday afternoon farmer's market that's started right next to the building my office is in. Today's bounty included a box of strawberries (my favorite food), as well as snow peas, crookneck squash, and baby carrots. The sample tomatoes weren't good enough to tempt me to a purchase, alas.
My one complaint is that the market has too many bakery offerings. And they could really use a dairy. The web site claims there will be a goat cheese producer, but I haven't seen them yet. I am also reasonably sure that Guatemalan coffee is not a local farm product and, hence, violates the market rules. (There is also a tea stall, by the way.)
One cannot, alas, purchase the time to devote to cooking.
